Poland is a net energy importer, with a dominant share of fossil fuels (coal, gas, oil) in the trade balance. GUS data covers energy export and import by renewable energy carriers (section 865) and fossil fuels (section 866). The energy trade balance (export minus import) shows Poland's energy dependence on external suppliers.
